Building Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms through Emotion Coaching Tuning in to Students™ (TIS) is a professional learning program that helps educators create emotionally intelligent classrooms.

 

Developed from the evidence-based Tuning in to Kids® and Tuning in to Teens® programs at the University of Melbourne, TIS teaches practical Emotion Coaching skills so teachers can recognise, understand, and respond constructively to students’ emotions.

 

By turning emotional moments into opportunities for connection and growth, teachers foster classroom environments that support wellbeing, self-regulation, and learning.

Flexible Delivery Options

Full Program

Two full-day face-to-face seminars providing in-depth Emotion Coaching training. Teachers learn how to apply strategies across individual, group, and classroom contexts, including managing fear, anger, and collaborative problem-solving.

Brief Program

Three 2-hour sessions focused on core Emotion Coaching skills for managing anxiety, anger, and classroom conflict. Optional add-on sessions support collaborative problem-solving and sustainable implementation.

Introductory Sessions

1–3 hour sessions offering a practical introduction to Emotion Coaching—perfect for schools new to the approach or seeking a taster before full training.
